Carbon Dioxide is a colorless, odorless, incombustible gas present in the atmosphere and formed during respiration. Utilized as an exhalation gas for biopsies, it stabilizes body cavities for better clarity in the surgical field. when in its liquid phase, temperatures can be as low as – 76° C for cryotherapy, tissue removals, and as a localized analgesia when placed on the surface of the skin.
